Sushi review : The Tokyo Restaurant Bar & Cafe est 1998

My mum, sister and I went to explore and window shopping at Isetan The Japan Store Lot 10 when we went to Pavilion and Fahrenheit 88 on last Saturday. It is always fun and curious to explore the "unique" designs of the products displaying in Isetan The Japan Store, charging with crazy sky high prices (I wonder if they directly convert the symbol of yen to RM , LOL) Instead of  "window shopping", I would say we actually visit this place like a tourist visits a museum. 

We accidentally found out the top floor was opened, to our surprises, this floor was crowded, more than the first floor. Coincidently we were hungry as it was already 9pm, so we decided to walk in one of the Japanese restaurants to grab something to eat. We chose the Tokyo restaurant bar & cafe est 1998 because this restaurant was the most crowded one.

 We decided to only give sushi a try, so we ordered this sushi plate and my sister ordered another two pieces of salmon sushi (Same as the salmon sushi on this plate). The sushi portions were pretty big. This was one of the best sushi I have tasted so far, it could even compare with the sushi in Japan. The raw salmons and fish roes were really fresh, no stingy taste at all. I didn't fancy the taste of unagi meat but this little piece of unagi was thin and tasty for me. Sushi filings and rice were really good, as you could taste they use high and fresh quality of ingredients to make the sushi. 

The wasabi was real ! Yes ! Because nowadays you could hardly find the real wasabi in the Japanese restaurants, you could taste out the wasabi particles, with a naturally choking and spicy flavour. Soya sauce and the mayo sauce were nice too. Love the organic green tea as well.

Recommended for those who are looking for qualified Japanese fine dining, which are close to the Japanese cuisines in the original country.
